Title: 53.5" osage stick bow- 'wishbone'

Just finished this little osage bow, haven't put it on the scale but feels around 45# at  25" draw. This is the first I've made from the pile of osage my good buddy Paul Semp gave me a little over a year ago, thank ya Paul. Put a couple hundred arrows thru it between yesterday and today, decent cast for the weight and quiet in the hand. Adjusted the way I grip the bow after reading Fred Asbell's chapter in Bowyer's Bible vol.2 and it really made a difference in the way
the bow handles, getting a silent arrow send-off and a smoother shooting bow with more accurate shots.
Finish is beeswax and boot grease (pitch & mink oil), heated and rubbed in three coats.
Handle is deerskin over padded cork on belly with a couple strings of glass beads.
D97 string padded at loops with dacron and mink fur silencers.
Little brown 'wishbone' and white dot accent paint in acrylic.
Heat treated (to the point of accidently scorching in a few areas :D) as you can probably see in the pics.

Sweet Jesus man, you got yer bend goin on. Dont know if you like the short hunting style bows or not but ya sure can build some damned fine ones. ....one word, beautiful  8)

Man, that's a sweet bend on that one Greg.   Looks fast to me.  I will have to give that chapter another read through, Lord knows my shooting needs all the help it can get.  :)

Wow,sweet tiller,spot on!they say it don't take much osage to make a bow and there's proof in the pudding! Nice work!

Thanks for the kind compliments on the bow guys, it is very much appreciated coming from all you.
Be seeing some of ya who commented in a few days at Marshall and I know we'll be having a good time trying to shoot the nocks off each others arrows, looking forward to it.  :D   For the others who won't be there I hope our paths cross sometime in the future and we are able to shoot together one day.

  Greg, tiller is awesome man...Always enjoy looking at your bows. This one is no exception, great work 8) I'm getting used to shooting my shorty that Rich gave me...I got to make me one of these! Hope you hit lots of nocks at Marshal >:D
