Nice point. You got enough of it to last you awhile.  ;D

I'd have to answer, YES that is Brian's rock, or at least used to be. I helped load it in Lyman's truck.

That;s a beaut Man!! dp

Thanks for the comments. Bryan and I made the trip to collect some of that rock. I started worrying there may not be any left to bring home. The tutoring I got from Outbackbob and Stringman has made a big difference in my knapping. Of course, Sonora works just a little better than NC Rhyolite Beast Rock... >:D

Great point nc.
It does look a little like it could be Morrow Mt. stuff
Sugar I was all over KY this spring. All I found was some horse poop near
Frankford. I saved it for firing my pots.

I scavenged a chunk of that from the knapping pit and found it was one of the best stones for my firestarter kit.  Coupled with KHalverson's recycled mill file striker, I could really lay out the sparks.  Unlike most rock that works well with a striker, this stone does not chip off quickly.  Premium stuff, I tell you!

I didn't have much room to haul rock but I did except a few gifts .I spalled a ton of that last weekend for different people so there was lots of knappable pieces in the pit
