If a bow was pulling 50# at 26", and now after cherry barking the handle section, it seems like its pulling 50# at 20". Too scared to pull it past, I thought I'd ask here first. Do I have to re-tiller it back to 26, or can I pull it there? Cheers

You backed the bow with cherry bark? Cherry bark will add weight and some performance. You will probably have to tiller the weight back down to 26". That is pretty simple to do. If the tiller is still good take long strokes with the scraper, say 10 then exercise and check the weight. Keep this up until you hit your weight. Be sure both limbs stay even as you do this.

It says he cherry barked the handle section. Is this a bendy handle bow?

...or is your stave still drying?

No, stiff handled, but the bark extends maybe 6" past
the fade. I knew it would add a little weight, just seemed
like a lot. It's well seasoned Osage
