Title: Osage plains bows for two ladies (PART II) (No. 39)
Post by: simson on February 25, 2014, 03:50:57 pm
Ok, here is the second part. This bow was requested by a Lady who is active indian hobbyist. She gave me the linen clothes for the handle (to match her self made quiver) and the horse hairs. The bow is unbacked as requested. Tips are flipped, handle setback.

50” ntn
25” draw
31# weight

enjoy …

Nice! I really dig it. Very primitive, but obviously not a simple build.

Nice antiquing on the paint job.  It reminds me how they try to replicate a time-worn finish on fine instruments.  Really makes it look like it's been around forever.

Nicely done Simon, killer bow.

Thanks Greg, yeah I hope she likes it ...

Little sanding with steel whool over the ridges and you get the 'used look'

Sweet from unbraced to full draw....who says ya need sinew..lol  how much reflex did you start with, and end up with?

Thanks Chris, started with 6 now holds 4,5 - lost 1,5 think that's ok

Just got a message from the new owner Jutta D.
She was successful with her bow and won the first place at the 'Indian week' in Germany.
Congrats from here, Jutta!!!

But, she was busy also and made a new quiver for her bow. She honestly allowed to post here.
