Title: Greetings from Jamestown, ND
Post by: JW_Halverson on February 15, 2014, 01:26:24 am
Yup, I'm back in the frozen northland of North Dakota for the weekend.  If you are anywhere near Jamestown, ND, you just gotta stop by the Sport and Rec Show to see me.  I will be there with the birds doing some programs!

She's a great hawk.  Has been doing conservation education for almost her whole life.  She's turning 25 this spring and we are throwing a 25th bird-day party for her on Earth Day.

With the days getting a little longer, she is starting to feel the spring in her bones.  She's getting really vocal with me, little chirps, churrs, and peeps.  Sometimes I can get her to do it in classrooms for the kids too.  I only wish I could get her to give that gorgeous (and loud) full throated KREEEEYAAAAAAAA call in a classroom.  But she only does that in her home territory when she feels like piercing an eardrum on me!
