Title: Field Pt broadhead
Post by: Sasquatch on February 13, 2014, 11:59:49 am
Here is an Idea that I had.  I started with a 100 gr field pt. with two cuts in side.   Then cut a razor blade at these angles. Glue it together.  Dont know how strong they are i havent shot them yet.   And yes i know the angle is quits large but maybe it can work.  It is now 123gr.  If it breaks a blade then i can put another in.

Looks good for bunnies!  I wouldn't think it would penetrate too well on larger critters though.

Do you use a jig for cutting the slot?  If so, would you mind posting a photo?  Thanks!

Do you get PA mag? Darryl Quidort just did a whole write up on this same thing. He pins his rather than glue.

I'd think that would plane quite strongly if at all misaligned...

Sorry, it wasn't PA. It was Trad Bowhunter rather. Great write up all the same.

If it flies good, I'd use it on turkeys.
