First guy to finish his bow said he was sending it northwest, but I had no idea that beauteous piece of work he'd impressed us with was going to me!
I look grumpy in a couple of pictures, but I swear that's because the sun is showing up for the first time in forever and it's hurting my eyes ::) I was beside myself for a good two hours getting nothing done and shooting this thing, now I've got it across my lap as I post this ;D
She pulls about fifty pounds at twenty six inches, is sixty three and a half inches knock to knock, has six inch levers, has perfect little touches of character all over her, dark overlays I can't call the wood on (help me out bob!), feels smooth in the hand and shoots arrows like a whispering rifle!
I really wish I was a better shot so I could do this bow justice.

A great big thank you to Hunterbob! This bow is is a hard-hitting masterpiece, and great inspiration to make my trade bow my own masterpiece.

Wow! sweet osage shooter you got there, its eye candy to me.
-
Wow!!! congratulations what a nice Yeller stick ;)
-
wow you got a sweet bow.
-
Congrats, looks great. My son in law gives me flooring samples to use as overlays and those tips look just like what I have been using. The sample is labeled rosewood.
-
Great . Glad she made the long trip ok. The tips are black walnut from out back of my place . And the Osage stave came from Chris . Blackhawk .
Sounds like you are pleased with the bow. I had some black locust staves here I was kicking around making one of those till I got your name. Sounds like that is all you use so I figured you needed some gold mixed in there.
I have a scale but never use it . I just make it to were it feels right. And I only tiller in a mirror . So if its not spot on that is why. But she looks to be bending pretty well. That is my first time seeing a full draw picture . I have only seen what was in the mirror.
Hope you like it Marc . I know I am a sore puppy from making it. Lol.
-
Bob, I cant get over how much those tips look just like my flooring samples labeled rosewood. I wonder if the flooring company is loose with their terms?
-
Yeah that is the very center of the heart wood from about a ten inch round tree.
-
That's a beauty and looks like a real shooter, nicely done Bob and congrats huisme.
-
Very nice bow, Bob and congratulations Marc. Oh, Marc, there is an arrow sticking in your right leg. :o ;)

Great looking bow! And yes, you've been shot in the leg Marc. Looks painful and yet you seem to be handling it very well.
-
Good job Bob !
-
Thanks . It was a hard one to ship off. But I will make plenty more:-)
The only heating I had to do was to get the string tracking.
Its like a bow just jumps out of blackhawk staves.lol
-
Nice looking bow.
-
The only reason I'm glad that's not mine is that then my suspense would be over ;D
That is a very fine bow. Good job Bob.
-
looks good to me, you know i didn't make those arrows for you just so you could go and stick yourself
right off >:D ;) ;D
-
Great job Bob. Marc I bet you are one happy camper. Even if you are wounded ;). I love this trade
-

Ha, I only tiller in a mirror too! The tiller looks absolutely perfect to me, you gauged/eyeballed the weight perfectly, it feels like petting a kitten to shoot so the limbs must be returning in time, and my new target makes a great thud every time I hit the bullseye >:D I really appreciate you giving me this golden wood, I love black locust but it's great finally having some osage of my own to shoot! Was the inclusion of lever tips influenced at all by all my talk of mollegabets?
Yes guys, I know, and I've applied generous amounts of dirt to the wound, so it should heal up nice and ugly and give me great stories for around the village fire ::)
we are just tough out west Pat, just tough >:D
+1 8)
Nice Bow. Good on both ends. Nice to see...And Marc, your cat is trying to hone in on the glory...LOL
That cat is Sassy, and she's a pain in the butt who tracks her muddy paws all over my bench, but only when I've got fine-grit sandpaper out! She's had her little paws on plenty, thank you very much :P
-
Full draw says it all. Lovely bow, lucky man.
-
Beautiful bow,congrats to you both. ;) :)
Pappy
-
Cool....congrats 8) ...that wood looks familiar ;D
-
Thanks for all the complements .
No huisme that bow is my favorite to build . I like 6 inch stiff tips . Just looks and feels right to me:-)
But all your talking almost talked me into making a molly. But it also sounded like you have plenty of those. It is just my favorite to build . It was a pleasure making that for you huisme . I hope you enjoy the bow.
-
That looks as nice as the one bob sent me in last years trade. Bet it shoots as nice too. :)
-
Fast and furious bowyering done :o ;D

The tiller is right on! Very nicely done! Jawge

Cocobolo is the true rosewood. I guarantee they aren't using cocobolo!!! Distrust anything called rosewood, there are many , many woods that get the name simply because true rosewoods hold a high price.
Oh and the bow is a beauty!
-
Wooo, I must have missed this one some how.
Gorgous tiller :)

Thank you George and everyone else for the complement's .
I think every bow I make for now on I am going to make it as I was making it for someone else. I think I go to a whole new level of bow making. I just wish I was younger and my hands and shoulders didn't hurt that much . I would be cranking bows out. But older wiser and slower might be the key.
