Title: Fiberglass take-down sleeve question
Post by: VicNova on January 15, 2014, 09:25:34 am
I have been practicing making the sleeve on 2x4 handle blanks. The fit is fine and when I shake it, the removable limb stays in. When I pull it out though, its really easy to pull out with no effort. Will this be ok when I try to actually do a bow? How tight are the glass sleeve's fit usually?

I just got a bow from big jims bow company with the two piece take down system. not only is it a wicked bow the take down sleeve works GREAT! it is pretty easy to push together and pull apart, he has made a few youtube videos on how to make them. its hard to say without holding or even seeing your handle but my guess would be that its not a problem as long as it stays together while stringing the tension should keep it solid. as long as there isnt a lot of play in it when assembled... no expert here just a piece of my mind, take with salt!
