The 7 b's ; Birch Bark Backed Buckthorn By Badly Bent ;D ; ;D.... also I inked 7 little bumble bees onto the belly.
Wonky shaped stave with kick in the handle area, dip coming right out of the handle at the bottom limb, a slightly concave section on back at lower bottom limb and of course some twist. Took some twist out with heat and flipped the tips a bit but other than that and some heat treating its pretty much shaped the same as when roughed out. Deer skin handle wrap and far out funky dye job over birch backing finished her off. Had about 150 arrows through it so far a shoots decent and quiet with the right arrow. Made this one for a good friend, my 3rd attempt to get one done that I felt was nice enough for him. Will get it in his hands soon, hope he likes it.
Specs: - 54" ntn
- 1 5/16" at widest
- 1 3/16" at handle
- 51# @ 24" draw

and a few more pics.

Very nice man. Of all the bows I see on here, I think I love most the ones that are all bent and wonky, but when pulled to full draw, look perfect.
-
Thanks Tracy. I typically get only about 3 bee stings per year.
Thanks Crogacht. I kinda like the wonky profile bows too.
-
You sure coaxed a sweet full draw profile out of that limb. Nice gift!
-
I agree with all of the above. Especially on that tiller!!!
-
Great bow Greg. That full draw profile came around nice.

Very nice bow. That wonky handle must have been a pain to tiller around

Didn't see the "wonks", too busy drooling, and admiring sir. That is a beaut. That profile and color and finish and grip and.....I'm running on again. Absolutely great bow, and sure hope it gets to the deer woods.

You bows are an inspiration to say the least. Great job on yet another great bow. I have necer drawn a bow that short. Are they smooth or a little stacky?
-
Another awesome work of shootin art mr. Greg!

Thanks Donald, I think the tillers alright, I've only made a few with that offset handle and I struggle with 'em.
Thanks for the kind words John, appreciate it.
Thank ya Bob, I had fun with the dyeing of the bark backing, always like to play with finishes that are new to me.
Thanks Del, glad you like her.
Thank ya Slim, I like me an occasional challenging piece o wood.
Thanks Pappy, I watch you Tenn. boys craft some fine bows out of some rough wood and I learn from it.
Thanks for the kind words owlbait, appreciate it.
Thank ya Matt, yeah I have a short draw, rarely more than 24" and yes many of my bows do stack up at full draw
Keeps me from overdrawing. ;D I'll figure it out eventually, still learning the craft is what I always tell myself.
Thanks ya Mr. Drew, much appreciated.
Thanks Paul, appreciate the compliment.

Great looking bow with a cool name. Showing pictures unbraced, braced, and drawn is like telling a story, and you told a dandy with this bow.

I'm sure the tiller job on that one messed with you a bit! You handled it quite nicely! Josh
