Nice, very nice!!! Great looking bow! So let me get this straight, brazilian walnut, or ipe, or are those two one in the same? I bought some wood labeled brazilian walnut once, and tried 3 different bows from it. They all exploded, literally. Reminded me of eastern red cedar when it explodes. Never backed it though. Still have a little sitting in the pile.

Shame on you for even considering not posting this bow. >:D Big time Backed BOM candidate is what that one is.
Striking bow Bryce.
-
That's a beauty all right. The handle and tip overlays are amazing.
-
Wow! There it is! I am so infatuated with bamboo
backed bows right now. Amazing bow.
Japbow.
-
Man, that bow looks fantastic! I have stayed away from board bows and backing with woods I can't harvest myself, but this bow is an inspiration, to be sure. Great work Bryce.
-
Very, very nice! Nice curves... tiller is spot on. Well done. Ipe is one of my favourite bow woods. I have easy access to it, and it makes tough-as-nails bows. Great bow all around... except the bamboo! ;D ;)
-
Nice bow and tiller. Look's like you learned how to take some nice pictures, too. You must live Gordon?
-
That came out really nice. O:)
Yea, I really like the picture show..........

thank you J0SH
thanks Japbow. yep that bamboo is some good stuff:)
thanl you Mr.Freeborne. these board bows are pretty fun. no knots, twist or shenanigans to deal with. which is a nice change. but they can never replace my staves :)
hahahaha not again! thanks ADB. yeah its a good combo.
thanks mullet! i got to looking at keenans and Gordons pics and they set to mood for the bow.
i had actually made the table and then took pictures of just the table. then put a bow on it and took more photos... added some leather, fur and primitive items and bam! i nice bow setting. all done on my phone, i dont have a little studio in my house like some ppl:P
-
thanks steve!
-
Well done Bryce. I was impressed with how fast your bow would spit out an arrow.
-
Very nice Bryce. :)
-

Phone pics don't compare to these, great finish work Brycey!

Wow she is a looker. Not usually a fan of sandwich bows but that's a stunner.

Very nice job...The contrast between Ipe and lighter woods in probably my favorite looking bow style. Beautiful work.
How did you get the how did you get the curves into the tips? I did one recently where I steamed the ipe to get some re-curve and then glued in more when I backed it. Problem was it wanted to twist when I started tillering. It ended up exploding near the fade about 40 shots in. :(
-
Very nice! Bet that is a quick one!
-
beautiful work. classy clean work and a sweet looking full draw
-
that finish work is superior!
-
Dude that's super bad ass! How did you make the tapered bamboo ? On a bench belt sander or...
-
Just stunning!
That skeleton handlewrap is really cool, lets you see the beautiful wood and still provide traction...
-
Beautiful bow Bryce handle looks sharp but then the whole bow does.
-
hey thanks everyone!!!
i got the tapered bamboo from echo archery and thinned it down a bit on the belt sander.
then ripped a thickness taper 1/2" at the fades and 1/4" at the tips then it was bending enough to strap to my make shift reflex form.
-
Dang Bryce,
Seems like you've kicked your bow making to a whole nother level... This is a real beauty.
Got me worried about holding down my end of our swap :)
Gabe
-
Lol Gabe I can't wait! In fact! Yours is boiling as we speak ;) thought you might like some curves!
-
I'm dealing with some checking the handle of yours, playing with an inlay idea to remove the checked area... hope it turns out.
Gabe
-
im sure it will turn out great!
