This is the bow I just finished. It's my second serious attempt.Made from a hickory tree that I cut down and split with wedges and sledge hammer. 64" long. 50#@28". Backed with yellow timber rattlesnake skin. Antler tine arrow rest. Typical 2" to mid limb tapering to 1/2" tips. Seems a tad noisy. Any ideas as to what would cause that? Shoots nice with very little hand shock. Finished with about 2" set.

look'slike it came out nice, those off kilter draw pics mess me up though, makes it hard for me to see the bend good for some reason, anyway good looking bow, bub

Thanks. My son was running late for work on that draw pic. I'll get a better one later. Plus the pic came out too wide, almost like a fun house!

Looks pretty dang good any way we can get a unstrung pic?

What kind of noise you hearing ?
Nice looking bow !

Fine looking bow. Wish my second one looked that nice :). Keep up the good work and post me as they come.

Very nicely done sir! I'm a bit curious about the kind of noise as well. Josh

Wish my second bow looked that good! Heck I wish any of my bows looked that good :-[ Oh well as long as they shoot, "right"? >:D Sweet looking bow, especially for a second. ;)

Good job!

Thanks for the compliments! I think that the shelf may be a little high because I made a small handle, causing some noise when the arrow passes. I have big hands. May just need a little tuning.

That's an awesome #2!!! Nice work.

That is a very nice looking bow. Very impressive for #2.
Is your arrow hitting on the bow when you shoot it? Look for any rub marks before or after your leather piece. I've had some do that and make some noise.
