50 " long and about 47# @ 25". There is a knot just above the handle area that is closed on the back but opens onto the belly. There is a natural deflexed kink at the handle and the handle area is a little concave. The Osage is VERY thin ringed so I left an extra island around the knot on the back. Initially, I had wood knocks, but I decided to put antler on one pin knock and buffalo horn on the other and give it a fast flight string. Tiller is a little irregular, I left it stiffer around the knot and with the deflex it appears to give a bit more past the handle. The bow is very healthy and I enjoy shooting it!

Dang that is short! I like it! Are there meanings or symbolism behind the decorations?
-
No meaning. I like to wrap a short bow, it's just wool yarn. Part of me wanted to wrap about 3/4's of it and just leave the ends exposed. Next short Osage I do, I'm sinew backing. I'm growing more and more fond of short bows. I'd like a real nice and clean one with about 60# for hogs.

Hot dang boy, next thing you will be doing is making those little Japanese circle bows, that the high mucketyy muck women carried, while traveling. Very nice, and if the bow shoots well, and is comfortable to shoot, a little out of tiller is fine. very nice, and must be very light, like a kids bow. Easy to carry for long periods.

The tiller looks fine to me, Steve and that suca is short. Thanks for calling and checking on Kathie.

You bet, Eddie.
It's fun to make a bow that is irregular, like this. Even though the tiller doesn't look like what the "standard" should be, the wood hasn't taken any set, so I gotta figure it is right for this bow. No shock to speak of, either. It's a fun little bow. I'm working on a patchwork quilt style plains bow case and quiver so I can easily ride around with that on my back when on my trail bike. Fun!
