Hello,
first of all I´m sorry because of my english is not the best. I am not practised and have forgotten
many many words. But I will try it, please be lenient.
A few days ago I showed you pictures of a gnarly piece of wood with big knots in the handlesection.
I was not sure to be able to get a bow, but she wanted to become a bow.
She is 54" and pulls now 52# at 26". Before I started to work I saved the big knot with a fishing line. Then I bent the bow several times with dry heat and steam, because one limb has been reflexed and the other was deflex. One spot on the left side near the fade looks weak, but there was the deflex starting.
I hope you will enjoy it.
Thanks for looking
Peter

Way to show a difficult stave who's in charge. Love the grain in that wood, especially at the handle. That bows is as individual as they come, nice work Peter.

Nice bow from mother nature. Lik it a lot. :-)

Gorgeous sculptural bow.

I made the same mistake: she is 60"!
She looks like a warthog

Fantastic....great work, glad that you recognized that "she wanted to be a bow." Reminds me of a humpback whale, very pretty.

Stunner, Especially considering the wood.

Beautiful bow...I wanna see more!!!!! :D

Thank you - what do you think the tiller?

From what I can see from here if you started out with those kinks in the limbs you did a perfect job ;) bend looks great to me....how's it shoot? That will tell ya a lot with these kinds of bows

Nice looking bow! Lots of character.

You should be proud of that one bud.

Looks super. That wood in the handles area is just beautiful with the swirls in it. I'm wondering how comfortable in the hand it would be with the bulk of it. I'm not much into pistol type grips but I think there is enough meat in there to do it that way and make it cradle in your hand. Nice work. Danny

One thing I have learned over the last 10 years (since internet) no matter what language we speak one knows a well made bow when he sees it. It is a great thing to know how all wood bows are being made by people all over the world. 8)
Well done. :)
