Title: Point ID
Post by: JEB on October 08, 2013, 12:20:31 am
I have an arrowhead (artifact) that I found in the S.W. and the point was knapped with a twist in the blade.  Is this a style of knapping and if so is there a name for this type of point?

Could you post a photo or two?

It sounds like a Pandale.  You could look it up yourself, but posting a picture would be good for the rest of us, even if it turns out to be a Pandale.  They are not a common point.

Many points from the southwest have a slight twist.  The ones that are known for the twist are called Pandales, like Newbow said.

The twist is sometimes the result of the way it was sharpened.
