While I was researching Mollys I ran into a lot of Blackhawks bows and one in particular that I liked was the "Three Eyed Molly". I had a piece of osage that had a bad knot right in the middle of the stave. It had fairly straight grain, and I knew it could be a Molly. About half way through it I dug out the knot which went all the way through.
I think I'm going to call it "Cyclops Molly". the bow is 64" ntn, 55# @ 28", 55/45 ratio, with the bending limb being just under 2" wide and 5/16" at the tips. The tip are cow horn over walnut, with turkey breast feathers on the back. I'm not quite finished yet and still shooting it in, got about 150 shots through it, it did take a little set though. Can't decide weather or not to add a leather grip, might just leave it as is.
Thanks Chris for the inspiration......I still don't have the courage to thin those tips like you, but I may try a little more on the next one. and there will definitely be another Molly I really like them!

I'm glad you finally posted that bow. I've seen it in person and it is a great looking and shooting bow. The feathers change colors as you move it. And the finish work on it is superb.
-
awesome...i have been dreaming of mollies lately and think im going to build one soon. that is pretty. never seen feathers on the back like that. how'd ya do that?
-
Awesome Looking Bow!
I love the Molly design...
Building another one right now, 60/40, for a young lady.
And have a few more laid out... :)

Sweet shape on that one. Either you got really fat fingers or them's pretty skinny tips.
-
Nice Bow,
Id love to try maybe a molley next time myself? The feathers look great what kind of finish is on them?
-
Nice! The feather backing is :o :o awesome. I want to get a turkey this fall and do that to one. A wampanog paddle bow would look good done with feathers.
Great work,
Greg
-
that's about as good as they get! Awesome bow and it's got my vote if you put it in BOM.

Beautiful work, I too would like to know how you did the feathers> Dan
-
Thanks Clint, that means a lot coming from you.
Echatham, I use a material I have use on custom fishing rods in the past is called FlexCoat, a two part self leveling epoxy, only doing a few inches at a time, once both limbs are dry with the first coat, I apply a finish coat of the same material. The trick is to use a very soft hair brush and do not brush the feather much. If you break the feather brushing it into the finish it will not go back together and the osage will show through.
Thanks Gus, I think I've seen some of yours.
Slimbob, Fat fingers ;D, but the lever at the fade is 3/4" x 3/4" tapers in width to 5/16 @ the tips and stays pretty much 3/4" in thickness to the tip.
Capt, I thought about it way too long dive right in, I should have, because I probably would have had three or four under my belt by now. I love them.
Twisted, ya a Sudbury/Wampanog would look good, wasn't that the bow the pilgrims saw when they landed, Maybe a Thanksgiving bow?
Ifrit, Thanks, what a complement :)
Tallpine, thanks hope I have answer your question above.
Thanks again all

Wow, that is friggin sweet.

That's awesome! With those color-changing feathers maybe you can hypnotize the deer into standing still while you aim and loose ;)
-
That's an incredible bow all the way around. Great tiller, tiny tips and superb finish work!
-
That is one of the coolest backing a I've saw. Looks awesome

-
Hey Pard,
Just got off work and saw this.
Not going to repeat all that has been said. Except...Very good job. BEAUTIFUL!!
I do have one question. With your obvious talent, have you ever thought of taking that turkey pattern and doing it in shades of only red and black?
Knowing how Red/Black are a natural camo to an antlered critter ( combine that with your art work) I think you might have a considerable hunting weapon.
Just a thought...
Once again...Art and weapon combined.

Those turkey feathers are the coolest thing I've ever seen. You should do a build along on them. The feathers are so mesmerizing that I have to make myself concentrate to realize how awesome the rest of the bow is. I have to say this is one of the neatest bows I've seen on this site.
-
Glad I did'nt miss this one.I agree with everything everybody has said.Lots of bling on that one.
-
Wow, that's great!
-
Well done and well painted. Really dig it.
-
Does it camouflage well in the woods or is it too flashy?
-
I've seen this bow and shoot a round with Bill wile he used it the pic don't do it justice it is awesome great job Bill
-
AWESOME BOW! GREAT FINISH!
-
Stunning!
-
Holy Toledo!! You have got to bring that to Moontree II so I can see it in person.
-
Amazing looking bow!!
I love everything about it!!
-
Sweet bow,nice work!
-
Beautiful work that finish is amazing very nice attention to detail! :o
-
Killer bow man! I LOVE the knot in the handle.
-
Wow, didn't expect so many relies, thanks so much.
Countryboy, you really don't have a choice with turkey breast feathers. If you look at one spot on the feather and turn the bow that spot changes colors , red, green and blue.
Marks, Yea it has a to glassy finish to hunt with, it would really flash in the sunlight.
Thank you all again, for the comments.

That is one nice bow, super work Bill.
-
Got me wondering how those feathers would look under less gloss, might be worth it.
Have an osage hunter screaming for some camo.
-
No such thing as too shiny to hunt with. Just rub a little paste wax on her before you head out and buff it off later. ;)

Wow! Your use of turkey feathers is amazing. Beautiful bow - only thing I see wrong with it is that it isn't hangin' from my rack. :) Nice job.
