Howdy Y'all
Just wanted to show off some arrows I made from
Salt cedar shoots fletched with duck feathers from a northern shoveler
The point on one is a trade point I made from banding material the other
Is sharpened and burnt to harden thanks for looking .

Very nice lookin arrows. Fun to make as well. That fire hardened arrow will really surprise you for it's ability to penetrate.

Real nice primitive arrows Bo. Never seen salt cedar before but those shoot shafts look real good and I like the duck fletching.

Salt Cedar makes a hard, heavy arrow. It is an invasive exotic so you are saving the environment by using it for arrows. ;)

I actually cut these shoots out of the yard of a company i was workking for and dont acess to any more wich kinda sucks cuz i like them but when i cut them i didnt know what it was but thanks to PA and all the great people on here i was able to get their identification gotta love this site. Thanks for looking and the compliments.

Here in Oklahoma they are thick on the Cemeron river , I've seen them in other places around here but not like on the Cemeron . I haven't thought about using salt cedar , gues I'll have to stop looking at all the osage trees and cut some salt cedar next time I go ( I've cut some to cook hot dogs on and prop fishing poles on ) .
