Well it couldn't quite finish this one in November, sooo,I stayed home from hunting and here she is.I took this piece of wood off the bellyside of a bigger stave.I would have never thought it would have so many dips, twists and pin knots. Not to mention the hole in the limb.I just about wore out a heat gun trying to line up the string.I'd tiller her one way and she'd fight me.Kinda reminded me of my daughter when she was 14.I was determined to straighten this girl out and finally she turned into a fast and straight shooter.
She is 58" nock to nock, 52# @28".It is almost center shot, through tillering and heat gun.I added a piece in the handle area to the belly and back to build it up,and it feels real comfortable now. I wrapped it in soft rawhide and you can feel the handle start to bend at full draw.I like that,it tells you when you are "There".The tip overlays are Purpleheart and moose antler.
I think since the weight is light I'll use it in 3-D shoots.

By the way that agave quiver you sent has been on many hunts here in WI. works great.

Very nice bow! I love that hole thru the limb.

-
Fine lookin' bow, Eddie. Sometimes those nasty ones that you have to fight every step of the way make the best bows.
-
Very challenging bow...good job and bookmarked for DEC self BOM, too.
The knot must have been a little scary >:D

Boy howdy - that one does have some character. Turned out real nice - I've got one curing that has a hole like that in each limb, gonna be fun. Good one!!

Thanks for all the kind words.Coming from you guy's really means a lot.And I still get to play with another one with the rest of the stave. :P
-
You consider 53# too light to hunt with? I thought you had them little knee-high deer down there in Floridy.

Hillbilly,It just doesn't feel right if I'm not shooting a 60#.And a couple of Whitetail taken in the Swamp last year broke 200#,and the hogs get way bigger.Marc,Justin, and Roger ,Thank you.Ryan, can't wait to see yours.
-
Hey Eddie, does that static recurve up the performance some?
-
Personally,I think so.I read some stuff where it was said it didn't.This bow is very close to a bend in the handle bow and I think it does add to it some. And I like the way they look.
-
What a beauty!
-
sweet bow eddie
-
Thanks Jamie,it shoots sweet.
-
Mullet, how wide is she? looks to be about 1 to 1 1/4" she doesn't seem like the twists and bends bother her, nice profile and I like the bulbous grip.
VB
-
wow that is gorgeous. i love it. i love those character bows
-
Cool lookin bow Eddie, probably a pretty snappy shooter.
-
VB,You're right. It's 1 1/4" wide at the fade. The twist did effect it till I got it adjusted with heat. And it is a fast little shooter.
-
huh? looks like twisted sisters sister from pennsylvania. ;D
