Finally. Man this was quite the challenge. I was originally hoping to be done in the first month of this Trade since I knew my summer would be REALLY busy. Well I ruined the first attempt AND the second then broke the third AND forth...... :o I was beginning to think "Do I really know how to do this???" I have to say my confidence as a bowyer has dropped quite a bit.....Good medcine I guess.
I finally succeeded. I'm still not 100% satisfied but I managed to make a bow that I would really like to keep. That was my goal. I can honestly say I've done the very best I'm capable of with my current skills. It's also one of the best shooters I've made which was another goal. It has some flaws but I'm calling it done. Hope my person likes it.

One of a kind bow Arrowind and a true beauty. Can tell you really put your heart and soul in crafting that magnificent
work of art. That is one to be proud of, both maker and recipient. Real fine tiller to boot.
-
Someone will be happy and fortunate to get your bow. Nice work, great perseverance.
-
Your finish work is simply amazing, you put a lot of visual beauty into your bows and I love them. Your recipient will be elated to receive that.

Nice bow, but I am really digging the deer you painted on. What did you use to do that?
-
Sweeeeeeeet !!!
Good job and fancy for sure !
-
Very nice! I bet theres not another one like it!
-
Beautiful bow, someone should like that, the tips are cool, I am not much on having that much hanging over passed the wood [easy to knock off] but they really look cool and the finish work and deer scheme is sweet. :) very nice work. :)

Its obvious that you put a lot into that bow! Very nicely done sir! Josh

Nice bow, but I am really digging the deer you painted on. What did you use to do that?
Thanks Sleek! - I used some cheap acrylic paint I got from Hobby Lobby. I have found that acrylic paint works well especially if you plan to use some sort of oil based finish. I would use higher quality paint but I think it works just fine with the more affordable stuff.

Pappy,
Thanks! yeah i know what you mean about the tip hanging over. I just cant resist. I wanted the top tip to be the tip of an antler which it is. after I put it on i had to be really careful not to bang it on stuff. I hope it survives being shipped. I know packages just get thrown around. I packed that sucker with so much bubbly wrap I had a hard time getting it into the tube. Hopefully the person it's going to will be able to get it out! ;D
Gun Doc
Thanks!

I would say the person pulling that bow out of the tube would be more than happy to take his time carefully unwrapping that package when he saw the finished result! I would think that even if he was less than thrilled to work so hard opening the tube and finding a way to remove the whole glob, that once he was witness to your amazing work all would be forgotten... I would also say that if said person was me, more than likely he might even be a tid bit grateful to the craftsman who took such pains to protect the treasure on its trip. I would say it, and I DO!!
Jared you did a fair job of capturing the beauty of your work. The tips, grip, paint scheme, symmetry, tiller and overall look of this bow is exactly as it appears in your pictures. However, in all of your photos there lacks one element... My name! That beautiful little detail did not materialize until I held the weapon in my meaty hands. I apologize to all you green eyed wood monsters drooling over this bow, for this little dandy will never nestle comfortably in your hands. Rather, it is destined to live its life in a place of honor on my wall. Jared, my friend you have my gratitude!
-
Thanks Stringman! I have to say when I got your name I was a little intimidated. (well a lot) I've seen your bows and know how good they are. I was really concerned about making one that would be good enough. I can honestly say I made my very best effort. Sounds like it found the right home and I'm glad. I put just over a hundred arrows through it. I hope it holds for at least that many more. :P :o ;D THANKS for your kind words!

Excellent looking bow
