Title: Awsome bow, guessing early to mid 1700s
Post by: BryanR on August 03, 2013, 11:29:53 pm
Newspaper article on Friday giving details about my hometown Kittanning Folk Festival announced the Elk Lodge would be displaying historic items from their collection - including an original bow and arrow from the Colonial times.  I couldn't wait to see it in person.  It was about 36-38" in length, maybe 3" wide at the most.  Looked to be sinew backed.  Pretty awesome!!

The photos turned out pretty good.  There's some reflection from the glass display case.

I had to go back twice......   :)

That bow is sweet. It seems a little out of place in Pennsylvania.

Thanks for posting, nice close up pics. That bow looks like it could still fling an arrow with authority.

Even money says Legionnaire is already planning a replica!  And it's gonna be a shooter!
