Getting back into bows a little bit this summer, and I'm fixing up a longbow I bought a few years ago. I'm going to make a handle wrap but I confused myself a little. It is an English longbow (72") design so there is no clear handle section, and I'm wondering if I should be shooting arrows from the very middle of the length of the bow (36") or an inch or two above the middle of the bow. Does it even matter? Thanks, you can be expecting a few more posts from me this summer :)

As far as balance and comfort goes i like to go down from the center a bit, say 3-4," i think it's mostly a preference thing tho.

For a 72" English longbow, I position the center of the handle 7/8" below bow center, which balances the bow in the hand.

i usually find the center of the bow by balancing it on my finger then the arrow gets placed there and hand below it. it keeps it simple and that what a ELB is al about, simplicity.
