Title: Lil' Thumper
Post by: mullet on July 26, 2013, 02:26:44 pm
I made this shorty for my buddy that owns the Alexacarri Plantation. Tim wanted a light weight bow he could walk around and shoot rabbits and small game comfortably.

This Osage bow is 53" N to N, 42#@28". I've reinforced the static curve with hard maple and it has three lifts of back strap sinew put on with hide glue. The belly was heat treated, also. The tips are white tail and the snake came from the Alexacarri Plantation.

This bow was a real challenge with the whoop t doos and knots in the upper limb, that's why I ended up sinewing it. But, it turned into a zippy, little shooter.

Simply beautiful, If I had made that bow for someone, they would have had to pry it from my cold dead fingers. Truly a work of art

Thanks for the kind words everybody. It's nice to finish one. It has been so hot, wet and miserable with mosquitos that I've hardly gone into the shop.

Very nice bow, I bet even at 42# it's got some serious zip when he lets an arrow loose. Those rabbits better beware. :)

Thank you, everybody. This bow is surprisingly fast with the FastFlight string. Rob it's a full length Canebrake I split down the middle because it was too wide. It came off the Alexacarri Plantation.

Thanks Jawge, Grady and Bryan.

I've only been able to get on here sporadically. They started monitoring us at work and Brighthouse has been hit or miss at home, lately.
