Title: a blind mans bow (don't take it seriously)
Post by: BOWMAN53 on July 13, 2013, 06:06:11 pm
So last month i was talked into selling my personal bow. Never again!!!!  So i went into my closet pulled out a flat sawn hickory board, and chased a ring. I call it a blind mans bow because it's ugly, the tiller sucks, there's run off on the back of the bow and i never measured a single thing. It's a temporary bow until i get some better wood

Not bad actually, smooth draw and a tolerable hand shock. Like i said, it's just a hold over till i get some more wood to make a presentable bow. I have three in the making but it will be atlease another month until one is done.

Are you sure that it's just tolerable?  If so then your tolerance level must be pretty high because those stiff outer limbs must give you a pretty good thump :)

Lol well i do have a high pain tolerance but honestly this bow sucks to high heaven. I just don't want to put too much work into to something that is going to be used to bbq my burgers next week lol. I haven't shot in a Lil over a month and this scratched the itch. just Thought id share my ugly bow lol.

With a front profile like that, you're going to have a heck of a time getting that bow to bend anywhere other than the middle... which is what it's doing.

I'm thinking that a little side tillering on those outer limbs would make a huge difference!  Josh

Everything has its price. If someone offered me a few hundred bucks for my favorite bow, I'd sell it in a heartbeat. After all, I can always make more, and I'm only getting better.
