This is the first time I have created a set of points matched as closely as possible for weight and size. There were a number that didnt make the cut and had to go into a different pile. I didnt think it would be so difficult to get them exact ! I am satisfied with these and hope to hunt with them before I have to go back to Afghanistan soon. I will be hafting them soon and will post finished pics of those as well. Enjoy all !

Yeah I had to take some time off. As you can see in the pic I lacerated my hand pretty bad a while back, got a pretty big scar as a reminder that Jack Daniels will kick your a** ! too bad it was right where my pressure pad goes !

Very Nice! Materials?
Local Florida coral (heat treated), obs, Texas chert, some white stone "Mullet" gave me, Brooksville chert, and Flint River. I have to really thank Eddie he hooked me up with a lot of my stone.

Cool Points! I really like the symmetry... beautiful and functional...

The animal hit by those will bleed out in no time flat. Great work. ;)

Beautiful and obviously practical work there. (Just happens to be one of my favorite types as well) Thanks for sharing and keep your head down over there ' Frank

Those are awesome. I have hunting point jealousy.

OUTSTANDING set of points and good luck hunting with them but more important, be safe over there and keep your head and ass down.
(USMC 67-69, RVN)
On a side note; Have your run into any Camp Cuervo Archery Clubs over there. I opened one up with the Marines on Camp Hansen, Afganistan two years ago.

Well, you got the set done, EJ, let's kill a hog before you take off. ;)

Very nice points!! Stay safe on your deployment. If you get back in time to hunt ( oct-Jan) hit me up. I'll put on some bama deer.

Sure havent I've been all over the entire country of Afghanistan never even saw a bow ! pretty sad, I might bring some knapping tools over there in spite of the lack of knappable stone !

Seminolewind, we had ranges at Camp Sabalu-Harrison, Camp Moorehead , Camp Hanson and FOB Connelly. They may have been disbanded since NATO got involved. I know that archery ranges can no longer be opened. We opened several in Irag also. The group sent lots of archery equipment over to those two countries since around 2008.
Be safe.

SWEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT AS IT GETS

You know that makes my work look like I have no idea what I'm doing! >:D although I have to say, your work would shame some Natives in terms of artistic ability while holding functionality! Basically what I'm saying is that you have some fine skill at knapping!

Nice set of points,we'll have to get together one of these days

Why would NATO care about archery ranges? Archery is a sport practiced in many nations, has been in the history of many more. It is not insulting to any culture I know of so it could not be politically incorrect. Great excercise for shoulders & arms. My shoulders would be in better shape today if I had not gotten away from my bow for so long.
