I got my trade bow past the long line and braced over the weekend. Would like some input before I go any farther. Running out of time to screw this up…….
I would say that it is bending too much at the fades. I would start working about mid limb, but would like to get input from the experts.
At rest.

Yea to much bend in the fades
-
My advice would be to slow down the bending and drawing until you get that fade to chill out and not bend like that. Remove wood from the entire limb except near the fade that is bending. Remember to never draw the bow farther than it takes to identify a problem/part you need to work on, like a hinge, or a flat spot. Go slow and work the limb a bit after every time you remove material to make sure the adjustment is worked in, per say.
-
there is always time to screw one up >:D, sorry, on these r/d bows I really basically only work mid limb out till I get the outers to open up some and work back to the fades, I don't build a lot of these but that is how I attack them, jmo for what it's worth
-
Yep, too much bend at the fades....hows it going Keith? :) What Bubby said.....
-
I don't think this is screwed up. Just start removing wood mid limb and out, till the tiller starts to become more even. In my limited experience (with R/Ds) the mid limb removal can start to show up later in the draw, so its easy to over do it. Go slow, check the tiller a lot, and pull a bit farther just when things start to even out between inner and mid limbs.

It's really only the left fade that is bending too much. Exercise it plenty.
-
Like already stated, outer and mids gotta move.exercise between scrapes till your ready to fall over, then exercise it some more! R/D like to give a false tiller if not worked a lot.

Been working on this a little every day.
here is the progress I have made.

I can still see a hing at the Left fade, and am concerned about making weight at this point. >:(

Looks like it's gonna be a sweet bow! BTW I sent you a PM ;) check your inbox :)

Thanks to everyone who chimed in on this. I got it worked out. Just getting the finishing touches done. Then will get it shipped out. :)

I second that, watch that fade. That's a very likely spot to have a failure.
-
The tiller looks good for a reflex/deflex, now I would start taking it off from mid limb on out. I lot of people start scraping everytime from the fade and don't realize until it's too late that you can't put the scraper in the same spot over and over.
-
I just didn’t see it in the long line. The reflex/deflex is new for me. Had an Oh Crap moment when I put the shorter string on it. Need to get some more pictures taken. I am shooting it out now and putting on the finishing touches.

Looks really good! (in reality)
And completely different as in the tiller pics.

Love those lines. Unbraced, braced, and full draw. Well done. One lucky recipient.
