Title: opinions pls.
Post by: bushboy on July 02, 2013, 09:35:15 pm
This is a version of a R/D and these styles play tricks with my eyes!To me the bottom looks ok ,but the top outer should bend more?It is a pyramid taper and I am getting close to my weight and I don't want to bugger it up! Thank for looking!

I think both outers should bend a tad more, but not much. Your tiller is near perfect IMO.

The first black line is how much he has the handle off-vertical.
The circle is for tillering.

That circle doesnt work with every tiller. No offense whatsoever squirrel, but I despise that stupid circle on tiller pics, just a peve of mine. Whats the bow look like unbraced?

Id say it looks good. Take some beef off the tip thickness. Maybe get them to flex slightly at full draw, or close to it.

To me it looks like the bottom limb is a bit too strong, hence the tipping.

Nothing wrong with that but like pearl said it doesn't work on every bow

Yes try and get the outer limbs to 'come round' some more. Only a little though  :)

If I was close to weight I would probably shoot the crap out of it before I did anything. :) Looks good to me. :)

that tiller looks good to me and if there is no hand shock then i would shoot it as-is. if i was being picky i would say that the part just before the lower recurve needs to bend more. otherwise it looks good to me

Simple.  If it balances and shoots well, don't ruin it by tweaking it down to 30 lbs.  I speak from experience on this one.

Like Pappy said. Put some arrows through her and see where it ends up. Probably just a little sandpaper work after that. Just stay within draw weight limits.

Looks good to me. Shoot it in and that bottom limb might loosen up a bit and bring it in perfect. And even if it doesn't. Looks damn good to these eyes(minus the circle).
