All the heads where suppose to be side notch but i keep breaking the ears so i turn them into whatever.

All i have at the moment is a couple of hammer stones and a copper flaker not having any luck with the antler yet i think i just need to work with it more and i have a bopper well will have once i fix it untill i can find a moose shed or any other that may work.
Im having issues with my side notches and thinning any advice?
