I've made a beautiful obsidian arrowhead for a necklace, for my fiance. I've got a silver chain and the arrowhead, but my question is:
How do I put the damn thing on the chain?! It's frustrating... I'm sure I'm not the only one on this site who's tried doing it, and I know that lots of people have done it before.
I did dull the arrowhead ALOT so it won't cut her, 'cause the last thing I want her to do is to cut herself on a present I made for her.
Any help would be... Helpful... :P

I haft mine in a small piece of bone then drill the bone

:o That's really cool.
But I don't have any bones... Unless you count chicken bones and steak bones! :D
But what I was thinking of doing was taking some wire, and then wrapping it around it a bit, then making a loop. But my concern is that when she wears it, it may poke into her because it's wire... But I may just be being a bit overprotective... Lol. Either way. I'll keep in mind, hafting it to a bone. I could also use some deer antler :o

Here is a wire wrap method. Pretty easy but looks great -
I learned this method from a web page Michael Lynn put up referring to Flyfish's method of wire wrapping - see page 16. There is also a cord method on page 15 - http://flintknappinginfo.webstarts.com/uploads/DisplayingYourPoints.pdf (http://flintknappinginfo.webstarts.com/uploads/DisplayingYourPoints.pdf)
Thanks again Michael for your continued service to the additional knowledge of knapping

you can do the wire wrap method or you can go to a gem store where they make jewelry and they sell the pcs that you can super glue or epoxied on, they are a little fancier than a wrap
-
you can also get those bone beads at most of those hippie bead stores, we have one that has bones quills and all sorts of stuff
-
You can also haft it to a pc of wood shaft or a shoot shaft.

Thank you. I think I'll use that idea of hafting the arrowhead to the bone or antler. It looks really nice.
If he wouldn't have suggested that, I would have used the wire Dalton suggested.
Thank you!
