This 59 incher weighs in at a light 40 pounds at 27 inches, she is partially backed with raw hide tied off with hemp wrappings and ipe tip overlays. The ends have been steamed into shape and the belly has been slightly toasted. The hide is stained with some min wax color that used to match the hardwood floors in my old house, and the whole thing is covered in a dozen or so coats of Tru oil. A leather handle wrap and strike plate finishes her off. I sure hope her new owner likes shooting her as much as I liked making her.

If I had built a locust bow like that it would have fretted from tip to tip. ::) Well done! The full draw shows a beautiful profile. 8)

Very nicely done. Jawge

That is beautiful! I really like the good finish on it and it's simplicity combined with good workmanship. I can't hardly wait to start making shavings on a couple of nice staves that are drying here in my house :)
Great work for sure.

Almost every locust bow I have made over the years have fretted. Locust and ash are my nemesis.
