Title: ERC/ELB
Post by: Sasquatch on April 24, 2013, 03:34:27 pm
So this is my second ERC bow.  I really slowed down and took more time on the finishing. This one is my first attempt at a ELB design. It is 72" long. 1.5 in wide tapering to 5/8 at the tips. Dog bone raw hide. Cow horn tip overlays. the stave was really clean it only had one small pin knot on the back.  The stave had some deflex in lower limb.  I didn't want to heat it knowing that it is already a difficult wood type so I left it in there.  This was my first raw hide backing, and i really like raw hide. Its easy.  The bow is  52# @ 27 .  Hope you like.

Thanks everyone I really respect y'all's opinions!  :) I learned most of what I know from the people on this sight. I think that the lesson I learned from this one is a secret that misselmaster already knows. That is, a bow goes from a tool to a work of art with the extra care given during the finishing work. I have to say that I am inspired by his bows.

That is a beauty!  ERC is some kinda purty and your finish work shows that to good advantage.  Nice job!  Josh
