Title: Soft maple to back red oak?
Post by: kevinsmith5 on April 08, 2013, 11:15:27 pm
I have a big slab (74" x 6" x 2 1/2") of straight grained soft maple that I picked up thinking I'd just use it for risers (I paid $12). But I am working on a bunch of low draw weight (30 lb or less) sca bows and was thinking of using a few strips for backing red oak. Anyone ever tried this? I'm mainly looking to be able to glue in reflex and make it "pretty" (pretty is important for the recreators).

That a pretty good combo. Go for it.
