Red Osier Dogwood?
It's just a guess.

My best guess from the pic is probably one of the ornamental cherries or some sort of fruit but that is just a guess. It is too big for red osier.
Where did you get it? Do you have pics of branches and tips? Did you cut it fresh?

I got this from the George washington nation forest lake noomaw shoe line in with the driftwood.
-
I wouldn't use it for a bow if it was in a driftwood pile.

Thaks guys. Think it's a plum wood. It's not for a bow maling a walking stick for my wife. It is still solid wood the one end is a bit soft so i'll wrap it with rawhide. The other or handel top is getting a oak knot over it.
-
Did you varnish it? It looks like a cherry or wild plum, but the bark is not dark enough for plum. I am going to say cherry. Not very strong wood. its strong enough. but Locust makes prettier walking sticks.
-
Out west I would say whip alder (young red alder) but you are not out west.

No finish on it. Cherry is a good guess to. Lets just sat it's a fuit loop tree but I'm not pouring milk on it and taking a bite 😂 i'll post a pick when it's done.

Depending on where you are... I think its cherry. I have quite a few growing near me.
