Title: New caul
Post by: Gsulfridge on March 30, 2013, 11:31:25 am
After watching Blackhawk and Ozzy whip the snot out of a knarly, twisted Osage stave on a caul, I decided right then that I needed one. A trip to Lowes, a couple cuts, some drilling, gluing and clamping, and wa-lah, I have my first caul.  It is 66" long with 3" of reflex. Only problem is, I have to wait on the glue to dry before I try it out. Look out knarly staves!  ::)(http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/y406/Gsulfridge/871BE389-0923-4842-9B72-ABB5B094AE2D-7241-00000C9CFB65725A_zps65015c41.jpg)

outlaw i prefer to think of it as Golden wood  >:D ::) its so shiny and makes me think of gold when i see the shavings on my bench, and because i have only one stave i really find it to be more valuable than gold  ;D

But, in any case, thats a nice caul! i really like it, going to have to get one going for my goldwood stick

That hickory stave you gave me don't need a caul! That wood is perfect all by itself. Cleanest/straightest stave I've ever seen.  Thanks buddy!
