Finally got decent weather and time off to go hit the creek. I have literally been scraping the bottom of the bucket with my rock stash. It was a fun adventure all around and was able to load the rock into the Polaris so I didn't have to pack all 500 lbs out with my back. I was careful to keep the shots close in, wouldn't want anyone to recognize any landmarks. ::)
For those of you wondering what creek sorted rock looks like in the rough, here's a few pics.

This Osage log is straight up to 12 or 15 feet and I was trying to figure out how to get it to the road. Oh well, always another day...

We were getting excited to do a rock run in a couple of days but now we are supposed to get several inches of snow, then 60 degrees! I don't think it is in the cards! ;)

Nice looking stone! And virtually free!

Yep, very pleased with this load of rock. Got some nice pieces and a bunch of smaller point sized "flakes". Put one bucket through the kiln and its gonna need some more heat. Still pretty tough, and no color yet. Woke up this morning to a little snow on the ground. MAN am I glad I made the trip Saturday!!

Got a couple buckets of rock heated and worked up a few pieces yesterday. I love how this chert works for me and all the different colors I can find in this rock.
