Title: Father Daughter Quivers and Self bow Pictures...............
Post by: matter_daddy on October 28, 2007, 04:50:28 pm
This is the first self bow I have made it is from a hickory stave. 70" 35# @ 28"

The quivers are the first time I have ever worked with leather as well, but I think they turned out pretty good! I made them completely from my own design! They are both made of cow hide, the darker one is Deer Lace, and the smaller one is Kangaroo Lace. The designs were burnt in using a soldering gun. The smaller one is for my Daughter....She is Eight.

Good workmanship! Any chance of posting a picture of your bow at full draw for Self Bow of the Month consideration?

Wow thanks! Yes, I would love to have it in consideration for Self Bow of the month! ;D

The Bow is made from Hickory, it is 70" 35# @ 28" The handle and bow tips are deer skin, stitched with artificial sinew, then burned with a soldering gun. The string silencers are made from otter fur. This is my first time shooting a real bow, making a bow, working with leather, stitching anything, or even working with wood for that matter....it took me two hours of using the rasp wrong before I figured it out...... ::)...........But I am proud of the finished product...........

Here are a couple pictures of how the quiver attaches.....Its very secure! As well as a picture of my home range.....the round of wood with the bullseye is for knife throwing!
