I got out to the pit yesterday to knock the dust off of my tools. I managed to not break an ear while notching :). Thinning and notching are my focus this year. Thanks for looking!

feel free to send me one of your practice heads...wow....I got to learn to finish a bow before I take on knapping. Will have to stick with the traditional/primitive 160 Ribteks for now on my shafts. LOL

Thanks for the positive words
Tracy

very nice!
question.... is all obsidian brittle, or do some samples hold up better than others? i picked up a few finished pieces in El Paso and they broke very easily. Just wondering......
-
Definitely a disadvantage to working glass or obsidian. It is much easier to flake than other materials, but fragile.

come on now Tracy, I hear just as many guys breaking flint as I do obsidian, ya just have to treat it like a lady and be kinda gentle >:D
-
True Bubby, but I drop them too often, points that is ::)
