Title: hand shock at full draw but not short
Post by: BOWMAN53 on February 13, 2013, 08:43:40 pm
Ok, so when i full draw my hickory flat bow 50# @ 27" it has some  hand shock. When i short draw @24" it s just barely noticeable. Why is this ?

personally if I get a tiny bit of hand shock I'll check the timing, if it looks o.k. I'll try heavy er arrows or some silencers and that usually takes care if it, Bub

More energy stored at a long draw, more potential energy left over after release. Pretty simple.

How do you check the timing?

If it balances in your hand while you draw it, its fine. If you are getting handshock it could be a million things. A few common reasons are fat tips and stiff mid and/or outer limbs.

The silencers helped alot.

Pearl: my bottom limb was a little stiff in the middle. Took a few scraps and it helped too.
