Title: first homemade broadhead
Post by: kevinsmith5 on January 11, 2013, 10:53:53 pm
I made this today out of 16 gauge weld steel that picked up at the hardware store. I cut the shapeon my Dremel, heated it with a propane torch and beat in some edge bevels, then heated it, oil quenched it, and sharpened the edges with file and stone. Weighed it on my powder scale at 135 gr (I'd actually figured it out based on square inches of 16 gauge ahead of time at 137.5 gr, so close). Its hatted into the shaft and held in place by hot glue and artificial sinew wraps.
