Post by: kid bow on January 08, 2013, 08:17:46 pm
ok well i dont know if anyone has anything like this but i would imagine some do. if you guys have any bow wood that you dont want or that is taking up room in your sheds ill be glad to take it off your hands. any wavy wood with imperfections would be accepted. i am always looking for a good challenge... so if you guys have anything thats fits the bill send me a pm.

thanks

I'll tell you what.  You make it to the Classic and I'll give you an osage stave.  It won't be a primo straight one, but there will be a bow in it.

Do yourself a favor and build the bow the same weekend he gives you the stave. Then you can bet your butt you will have a life long weapon.

Its about 10 hours for me.  I won't miss it.  Come to the Classic, build a bow.  There will be plenty of us down there to look over your shoulder.

Don't you hate it when parents dangle primitive archery in front of you as an incentive?

Bring what tools you got.   You can borrow the rest while you are there.

You will learn more in two days than you could learn in years working by yourself.

I feel the same way about learning from Bryce! he is an exceptional bowyer and showed my friend and i all the little things he does! also, once you've learned for yourself, get some friends that want to make one and help them build it, you will learn and reinforce what you've learned by teaching the topic! that's why the classic has some PRO bowyers!
