Here's my Hickory bow that i made with the help of Pinecone ::) ;D.
Stats:
weight? at 29"
64"ntn
This bow has a wiggle that moves its string right of center(making it even more off center for a righty) There was a splinter lift so i filled with superglue and wrapped with sinew, putting tb2 on it for waterproofing and then wrapped that all up with thread to hide the sinew. The handle is wrapped with lace that Pinecone gave me, and if i had to guess the weight i would say its 50# @ 29"
Edit: this bow has about 2.5 inches of set, yet i still think it will kill a deer no problem.

That's a sweet looking bow, Muffinman. the tiller is great. Nice work! 8)
-
That does look cool 8) congratulations, and enjoy ;)
-
Great lookin bow muffin! Your tiller looks dead on. The hickory looks a little darker than most hickory Ive worked with, did you stain it?
-
Good job muffin. Keep at it and you can teach Brycey boy a little something one day.
-
Looks great. Tiller is excellent. Well done. Jawge
-
Like it. Fine tiller. :-)
-
Thank you all, okie64 the finish is 9 coats of tru oil, which is splendid by the way.
-
That is a lovely piece of inferior white wood! Nice bend!

Handrubbed multiple coats of Tru-oil is still my favorite finish, as far as looks goes. I've just gotten too lazy to do it anymore.
Nice bow, Muffinman. Nice indeed.
-
That's really nice. I wish hickory grew in WA, but i guess then again Ocean Spray is pretty much it's counterpart.
How does it shoot? Do you like the weight? I'm sure it has a smooth draw with that tiller. Goood job!!
-
Zion, It shoots like a dream, compared to all my other bows. The draw weight is a bit stout but ill get used to it. It has a very smooth release, and is very accurate, what i see is what i hit kind of bow.
I as of yet still have to go and look for wood, i will do that in the future sometime, goal woods would be VM, OS, Cascara, Yew, Elm, Ash, Oak, ect.

look's like you had a great mentor, ya did good, Bub

Nice job ,spot on!
-
nice job buddy.i knew your fix would work out.it looks real good.
-
If you decide to come down again, we'll do a stave hunt :)
Looks good bud!
That tiller does look good ;) 8)
Better start another!
-
thank you all, next time i have money for gas i think i would go looking for staves with you, i need to make a new tillering tree before i start another one.
-
Should only be a day trip :) and I'll show you a few of the species I tagged during the summer for winter harvest. :)
-
Nice bow, IM. You did a good job.
-
alright, that's fine, we would just need to leave early, either way we need about 50-80 bucks for gas.
-
Woah what are you driving!? Escalade?
-
well, if we take the Buick century it will be like 50 because we take about half a tank to get there and probably another half a tank to get back. but then we have to consider room for staves ::)
-
I'll pay for gas if I get a stave or two out of the deal.........!
-
wait steve your saying you would pay for my gas?! cool!
-
Nice lookin' bow muffin.
-
Great bow...........funny how the grain structure resembles Oak.
-
i wouldnt be supprised if it acts similar to oak. takes pretty much the same amount of set, maybe a bit more.
-
Heck yea, why not? If you guys are getting bow wood and I have to either buy it or drive my F350 out to get some myself then, sure.
Especially if you are getting yew. Maybe Bryce doesn't want to do that so you guys work it out and let me know.
-
Sorry I can't take you guys to the yew spot :(
-
why not ::) i would only take a few ::) lol, im sure ill get my hands on some someday, not ready for it yet.
-
It's on private land :(
-
oh, oh well.
-
Fine, Bryce. I was referring to driving my truck to my spot, btw.
-
Lol I've tried to get others to be able to go in with me but the old man is stubborn and mean lol.
-
maybe give me a piece or two? i would love to have some drying for later.
