Title: A really different molly/with full draw pic
Post by: fiddler49 on December 26, 2012, 08:55:52 pm
This is my first post on his bow forum although I was on here years ago posting on arrow forum.
This molly has overlapped limbs for a handle that are bolted together with 1/4" x 20 carrage bolts and using
moose antler with nut sleeves inserted instead of the original wing nuts. The levers are pegged and tied on
with 2 1/2" of reflex built into them. Levers are made from poplar, the bow is purple heart board with hickory
backing glued on with tite bond 3. 69"ntn 66 lbs @31. Bow can be taken down to as short as 29" and easily put back together. The top working limb is an inch longer than the bottom limb. Limbs are 2" wide and parallel to the fades. The levers are 13 3/4" long. I use 1/4" oak pegs to hold levers in alignment and 12 ft of waxed linen thread to hold them in place. I crono-ed  the bow at 180 fps with a 600 gr. arrow. No hand shock a sweet shooter. I've not seen a take down made like this before, any one else? I'm sure this type of over lapped take down can be built with lots of different profiles. I have to resize my pics but will post pics later. Thinking outside the box,  cheers fiddler49

Wow, how did you come up with this? You needed a bow you can hide under your jacket? Also have a take-down arrow to it? ;D

This is geat stuff, fresh thought, and nice work, thanks alot for posting.

Good to see you here Fiddler. I believe we know each other from PP. Inovative idea and at 180fps I would say you scored. Great job.  Look forward to seeing more of your stuff.   Danny
