Well it was an incredible drive over the day after the blizzard (see other post) but it was worth the drive. It is always fun to get together and share primitive skills and ideas with a good friend. We did a lot of flint knappin, shaft making (video soon to come for stalkingfox) , and chased rings on three staves (look for video in bows, soon to come) . We did a little shootin the @#&* and some real shoot with the 357 of Scott's and my new 44. Scott has a yound bird dog we took out and did some training with some birds we planted, and that dog will hunt! Here are a couple of pictures from the weekend.

Here are a couple ABO points I made. The brown point was a "challenge from Scott point". He wanted to race to see who could make a hunting point the fastest ABO vs slopper, I mean Copper. Needless to say ABO is king and copper is inferior.

I had a great visit with you and your family, thanks for having me over!

It was great having you down to visit. Enjoyed the fire, the knapping, chatting, discussing the trip to come, shooting, chopping, and shaving! Too bad it was t a touch warmer and we would have gone and picked up some rock. Oh well, next time...
Here's a few pics I took. First, to clarify, the "race" was to see who could hit 135 grains and still have a hunting point. Sadly, you came in under that weight, so you were DQ'ed. >:D

Funny you bring that up Scott and I were talking about how lucky you were to have that job and how cool it would be to be able to call our work real Native America work. So we decided our work it was just real "American" work lol!!!

For those of you who were following... John and I had a little challenge this fall to see who could get their deer down first. As it turns out, I narrowly pulled it off and was awarded my pick of his stone work. This is what John came up with, nice guy that he is, he even hafted it up for me.
Some of his pearly white "king's" rock all done ABO. Thanks buddy, this is super fine work!!
