Very nice bow, Pinecone. I love the look of cherry bark. I've done a few myself. On the last 2 I did I left the moss and lichens on. Made for nice camo.
-
That should make your friends Christmas very merry :) Real nice bow Pinecone
-
The backing on that is beautiful and the handle matches really well. Beautiful pair. Thanks for sharing!
-
Sweet, I tried cherry bark once for a backing and it was hard getting the bark to lay flat for me. Did you find it a tedious job?
-
rps3, when I backed with cherry bark I used a piece of 1/2" blue foam board as a pressure strip and bound the bark between the foam board and bow limb when I glued it down with TBIII. It gave good even pressure even with the uneven bow back and the uneven bark. After about an hour I removed the wrap to be sure everything was OK. Give the glue 3 or more days to dry because the bark backing is pretty impervious to moisture.

Looks good pinenut...the cherry bark looks sweet..I got a bunch of it( had it for awhile) that I need to start using up..ya might've motivated me to use some here soon...forgot I even had it..lol

Thanks Gabe! It's easy and glows with that Tru oil on it.
Thanks Pat, I have seen that bow and I really like it. I'll try it with my next cherry bark bow.
Thanks BB, I've been sending him teaser pics :P
Rps3, exactly what Pat said. I used some old foam strips from when we redid the carpet.
Thanks bluebird! If its been laying around awhile soak it in water for a bit :) I'm sure your working on a bow right now, put some bark on it :)
Thanks Rob.

That is a nice bend Bryce. Your friend looks pretty happy. Way to put that belly split to work. Bryce, you have some lucky friends!

Thanks Carson!
He was stoked! He immediately went out back and started shooting! Zippy little thing.
Yeah he took it to his family's Christmas thing today and he called me and said I have some orders to fill.
Then I asked if any of them hunt with a bow, he said no.
Then I replied, "I don't make wall decorations"
Then he said,"They said they will pay you"
"No" I replied.
:)
