This is a lumpy bumpy Yew character bow 66" Tip to tip and 48 lbs. @ 28" with Zebra wood tips. These type of staves can be a real challenge to work but also very rewarding when everything comes together.

Yew are sooo right Keenan! The yew longbow I started building at the Tenn. Classic (and finished at home) / from the billets I got from Brock / and that Mike M. helped me W splice....cracked down the limb from the bottom of the splice.
It was a terrible heart breaker. I had shot it hundreds of times (I couldn't put it down). I think it could have been caused by our extremely hot / dry summer here in Missouri.
I will definitely have another one day...it was an amazing wood. Thanks for sharing posts of your bows, they are always an inspiration.

I have to agree with the other fellas....That sure is a nice one. I can always use the excuse..."we don't have that wood down here is why I don't make em like that." ::)

Hey Roy, How are you Ol Boy. You did that stave very well indeed! My wife is still drooling over that buckskin shirt hanging on your wall. She got a good chuckle out of your story of you thinking you were going to cut it up into leggings. :o

Scott, that is why yew and Keenen are so good together. ;D
Keenan, that is stunning. I am baffled at how your meaty clubs can craft such delicate beauty. ;) I had to go toyour website and look at all of your bows in the gallery page...again. You have made so many fine bows over the years. It is awesome
-
Forgot to check for more pics and I'm glad I did. Gorgeous. I love your handle wrap design how it goes up to the strike plate/arrow rest.
-
Well done my friend. You did some serious following of the back on that one.
-
Thank you Guys.
Carson, thank you. I need to sit down and get things updated on the site. I've made several bows this year that I haven't even posted.
Ryoon, That style of rest/strike plate Incorporated has become my favorite since I first did it

Thank you Steve. I'll post some others soon ;D

Sounds like it hits pretty hard, but then again that's all yew knows how to do:D
Very well done Keenan! Maybe I'll make it to the next meet and finally shake the hand that crafts such fine bows :)
-
Bryce, you should definitely come to the Sisters gathering, it's a blast.
-
When is it? Was it last may?
-
Yes, we had it last may. I'm not sure when it will be exactly, I'm guessing sometime in May. I'm sure Keenan could give you a better idea. It was really fun, I got a bow shooting, made some new friends, launched some arrows as far as I could. Lots of people made their first bow, which was fun to watch.
-
Sounds fun! I'll still be in school, but I'll do my best to make it out. Whenever it is.
-
Middle of May Bryce. I'll let you know as soon as we get the date set.
-
Sounds good ;D
-
Turned out nice Keenan, beautiful piece of wood and outstanding work on it. :)
