Title: Stringmans stone
Post by: Tower on October 18, 2012, 12:36:17 pm
I was digging through some rock I've had stashed away last weekend. I came across a box of untreated stone stringman sent me months ago. I threw a few pieces in the roaster with some local stone,& was pleased with its workability. It knaps a little different than Tx rock, but its very good stone. Since it was something different, I thought I'd make a different style point. I hope everyone enjoys them. I've been working on some flintridge flakes given to me last spring. I'll try to post them tomorrow.   Tower

Beauties!  Love those thin notches.  Looks like they belong on arrows where you can add the appropriate red highlights. :)

I love it!! Not only did you use my rock, but with my favorite point style! Those look awesome! I bet they're thin too.

I love that rock on the right, but I think you could have gotten a little more color in them. I have my best luck bringing them to 475 ish then holding for 6-8 hrs

Beautiful work as usual!  I never turn down Scotts stone.  I've even been known to pilfer out of his debitage pile when the opportunity arises.  Josh
