Post by: Sambone on October 03, 2012, 10:44:53 am
I've noticed that on point of the month and on you tube etc. they are showing pictures out of a book to compare styles points. What book or books are recommended to use for reference?

i found a book on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Flintknapping-The-Making-Stone-Tools/dp/0942568052/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1349276079&sr=8-2&keywords=flintknapping+book
i also found that this ebook which is free is helpful: http://www.flintknappingtools.com/ebook_flintknapping.html
i hope this helps, i really do find that having one book that explains the mechanics is very helpful for me.

the Overstreets guide to artifacts is what most of us reference to. There is a series of books by Noel D justice. THey all start out with Stoneage spear and arrow points of...1)California and the great basin, 2)Desert South west, 3)Mid-continental and eastern US. So many references so little time....
