Yesterday...I was the "Burlington Corner" knapper seen in the photo below taken on a Burlington IA corner during the Heritage Days celebration. I managed to crank out a few points ABO and was explaining how I make points when a large bang stopped me in mid sentence. I looked to my right and saw a car jump the curve and head down the sidewalk at a high speed. I could not beleive my eyes as the driver looked panicked. I knew some one was going to die because the sidewalk was full of people just 20 yards further. The driver quickly turned the car into the store on his right and brought the car to an abrupt stop. He was my hero for ruining his car and not hitting anyone. His brakes were not working. Demo, drama, and 'days

sounds like a heart pumping thriller - the accident not the knapping ;D nice points!

Very nice points, sounds like an event. How was the driver?

The driver was okay. I am trying to find a link to the newspaper website they quoted me.

Ok. I tip my hat to the true Burlington corner knapper. ;)
Way to get out there and be visible! (and nice abo points!)

Here is the best part. I was the witness but was booked as the driver. This information was sent to a central data base that informed my insurance company and other law enforcement departments. Before you could blink an eye i had ll kinds of problems. I was served paper from the court as the police department needed a judge to reverse the charges. Took a week to clean it up.
