I was thinking of hiking back in hills and finding a good osage tree to cut before I call it quits for the year, I just wanted to know if anybody was gonna be wanting any (freshly cut) osage staves from me ahead of time I and will save some... PM me please if so.

Ok, I finally found a good tree. Unfortunately I only got about 62" - 63" staves out of it, but they are at least very straight and I managed to keep all knots on every split to the outside on the stave, so every stave will easily yield a bow with zero knots. I need to find another good one a bit longer to cut as a couple guys were wanting 70" or longer so I will update yall. I will have a thread up tomorrow or so after I have sealed the back and ends about 3 times and have all the pictures taken and uploaded and all the dimensions down...

Man those are sweet :D
I just finished chasing my first ever ring, it took me almost 7 hours with all the dips and curves and knots and it was a great experience but I still have 5 of yours left to make bows with and getting more now would definitely be jumping the gun

I hear that, take your time, you will thank yourself later, 8). Good to hear about your first ring chasing, awesome. I was thinking those staves would last you a long time, can't wait to hear about your first osage bow.

Well, these went too fast for me to even post any pictures and dimensions on, so I guess these are all gone. I am truly very sorry to everyone who didn't get one, hopefully I will be able to find a couple more longer ones but right now I am not sure that I will be able to, as the tree's I had been hoping to cut I couldn't get one down and the other twisted like a barbers pole when it split, and I only got one usable stave out of that entire tree. I just cannot find anymore usable trees, although there is almost a forest of Osage in the area I have access to cut, I can't find anymore usable tree's without probably going up on someones property. Which I won't do. So I can't guarantee nothing.
