Title: bamboo backed Osage "semper fidelis"
Post by: Dvshunter on July 06, 2012, 01:50:26 pm
This bow was made as a gift to a friends daughter who I met the years ago at mojam. I was playing a joke by breaking what I thought was a lost/broken arrow behind someone drawing a new bow back.shortly after breaking the prior to pieces the owner came looking for the little pink store I had in pieces in my hand. I felt horrible and decided to make her a bow. After I got her draw length and weight I started out.this is where I ended up. 58in ntn and 56@26. Bamboo backed Osage, with we're and zebrawood scents in the handle and tips.  I used stickers to suntan in the words semper fidelis on the belly.

Gorgeous work, and nice payment of debt! I think you can break as many arrows of most guys on here to get one of those ;D

DVS,

How do you keep the words from tanning to match the rest of the bow over time? It is a very sweet looking bow. I plan on being at mojam this year and will be leaving "arrows" laying around every where. :)

Good looking bow and the "tan line" was a cool idea. Look forward to seeing it in person in a couple weeks... :)
