Here is my first attempt at an extreme molly, "Blackhawk"is the name. Thanks for the nudging to get me started on here, your a great friend Chris. The bow is from 20 yr old osage, 61" ntn, 54 @ 27". Its a 50/50 ratio with 12 3/4" lever's and 12 3/4" workers. It holds about 1" of reflex. The backing is common carp trimmed with black silk thread. The grip is deer skin tanned. The overlays are from the sawed off stave ends. The picture showing the levers has an 11/32 spruce shaft along side for comparison. I have no chrony, but its a screamer trust me.

A few more. I went hog wild with my NEW camera!

GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY!!!!!! ;D
Not only is that a gorgeous looking stick, but you unlocked ALL the potential from her.....dang that baby is working too
Im honored that ya named her after me..thanks buddy.... ;) ;D
-
missed one!
-
How do you get all that work done, in such a short time, and keep making great bows? I like those carp skins!
-
hmmmm?? wonder where ya got the blueprints from? and how did i get ahold of your secret recipe? >:D
thought id throw this in with your thread in case someone wanted to try there hand at this ;) 8) all the 13.5" numbered dimensions are suppossed to read 13.75"...adjust widths(wider) for less dense woods,or for different bow lengths/draw lenghts, draw weights...etc.....and the .700" thickness for the levers is just the starting point, and get reduced down at final tiller before shoot in cus thickness will vary with each stave

Just lucky I guess Mike!

Good Golly Miss Molly!!!!!
That is a beautiful thing there Drums!!!
How do you keep the limbs from taking a bunch of set with such a small amount of the length working? I had to ask because it's hard enough for me to do it with 70/80% of the limb working!!!

Great wood never hurt a thing Kip Winger!

Kip Winger has left the room ;)
-
Incredible achievement! 25.5" working limbs @ 27" draw length; still no apparent set so far. Makes one wonder whather it's a special wood or just a good design.
-
Thats a looker....think I will put that on my list...need to finish a couple others I got started though ::)
-
Really nice bow. No visible set at all from the pics. Nice job!
-
Pearly I sure like that molly ;D That's a beauty. How do you like how it shoots? Man keep putting those bows out.

First class all the way around on that bow PD and it sure does look flat out fast. After seeing this and Blackhawks bl molly Im thinking I gonna have to attempt one of these someday. Hope I can make one half that nice when I do.
-
VERY nice! Love those Molly's!
-
Wow....50/50 ratio...never tried that, I wonder if wych elm will take that kind of bend, might have to make it broader *ponders.
Awsome bow.....but now I just HAVE to ditch my 1/3 ratio and try out that aggressive design:-)
Thanks.-)
Cheers

Sleek looking speedster there PD. Great looking full draw and I really like the handle. Sweet stuff for sure.
-

-
great bow well done.

No temper, just streaks in the wood. I started with about 2" of heated reflex and have about 1" now.
-
Love this one P.D.!
Been chasing out a bunch of Osage lately, while I bend this Dogwood Trade Bow into shape.
After that is done I think an Osage Molly using this design is next.
It will be my first Band Saw Bow!
Thank You for sharing!

Turned out great! The carp skins look sweet- I really like how you positioned them.

Great bow - but I guess you already know that....
I'm guessing no handshock at all? The stiff and light outer limbs make these GREAT shooters in my opion - no room for handshock :)
-
Thanks Mike. Your right about the hand shock.very smooth .
-
Beautiful Pearly, I bet she really sends arrows down range!!
-
Just awesome man! Very well done :) those carp skins really set it off!
-
Thats just beautiful. Love the carp
-
Nice! I bet that thing sure spits an arrow. Beautiful work - love the carp skins.

What a looker pd...on a side notewhat is the diff. between a molly and a holme. I have one like that in hickory and i am confused on what is what, i know it explains it in tbb vol? Pg? But might as well ask here :D
-
That thing is seriously awesome.
-
You done yourself proud Pearly !!!!!
Good job my Friend !!
I have been chasing electricity and ice lately
there is wood down every where whole trees ripped out of the ground
No energy left to look to see if any of it is anygood !
I trust all is well up north since all your power trucks are down here helping out it was great to see them arrive !
Take care and keep it up !!
