I just thought of something, i know that us warbow shooters are so few, almost a subculture, within a subculture, within another subculture haha, so what if we were really able to show to the world who we are and what we do. I think it would be really neat for a few of us in the american society to try to come up with a design for t shirts, hats, jackets etc: for us to buy.
I think it would be awesome to be able to show how we belong to such a unique group.
Any suggestions, or ideas?

Hey Will!
I this post and thought "DOH!" I had said in some past emails that I would start working on this very project! However, life and its busy-ness have foiled my plans. So I renew my statement and vow to tackle this project! My father owns a sign company and does all sorts of promotional apparel, hats, cups, patches etc. So I'll be working with him on something and get back to you all in a timely manner!
The attached image was designed by one of our members named Jay Schwanke and if I get the "go ahead" from him we'll make some prototype promo stuff with it.

All of those are all easily viable options! Mugs, hats, keychains, the list could go on. I love the idea of tee shirts, window decals, and patches!

I think t shirts would be great to start, with the logo on the front and a slogan, even a quote, i also think, depending on how many members we have we could list out names on it

Here is just a little design for a tshirt, i used Jay's logo, but i couldn't make it all the colors for some reason.

I would like the logo on the front moved over the left breast. The back looks awesome.

Are you going to keep trying to get the colors to work? I think the logo would really jump at you in color.
Where did you get the archer art? Make sure it is not copy written.
Keep up the good work and maybe e-mail these pics to the rest of the AWS members in case they don't have a chance to check out this great forum as often as they would like to.
You might also toss it on the facebook page for feed back.

i can make the logo go to the side, but i cant use more than 2 different colors on a shirt, and if i do the full color, it would have to be on an all white shirt or it turns out odd.
I think the black and white looks cool too, but im not sure

Let me know what you all think, but the design has to have only two color on the double toned shirts,
or on the simple shirt, it can have 4 colors on the front and 1 on the back.

wow, i think they look great, i like the black the best, then the maroon , is it possible to make the front logo a little bigger to stand out more?

These are really nice Will! I really like the black/white, and maroon/white best as well. They are very contemporary and sporty looks.
My father has all the equipment to make the prints, even in color. Also, A couple of suggestions he had for the shirts and possibly decals were, locating the "American Warbow Society" text off of the image and placing it nearby in some arrangement. His other suggestion was to either create or find a more detailed eagle. Keep the eagles posture and shield the same just a little more detailed and/or fierce looking. That is not meant to punk on you Jay by any means! Those were just his holistic observations and suggestions as a sign/advertising business owner. So, I told him Id bring it up to you all!

Also, not sure if anyone else saw Jake Fenwick's post on facebook, but the CWBS has implemented memberships cards. Looks cool to me, perhaps that is also something the AWBS should consider?

I like the maroon best followed by the black. Looks more distinctive.

Taking the words out of my logo is easy, just delete it out of the file and put wherever you need it.
The intent of my eagle's "style" was to be some what period appropriate. A nasty looking, digitally drawn, bird would be cool, but I was going for a look you might see on a 14th century banner. By the way she has 50 feathers ;D
All constructive comments are valid and the feed back is great!!
I can't wait to hang one of these on my back.
Some kind of membership card with our mission statement and logo type art would be cool too.

I don't think we do, but we need to have a reason for being a group.
A "mission statement" would say the who,what,where when and why'z.
Will, What is the ball park price range of a shirt like the black one??

i think that they are ~$17 when ordered in excess of 50, or about $22 individually, but im not sure.

I like all three shirts. They all have their own special qualitys. Do we have prices and avalibility yet. As for membership have we come up with due fees, boardmembers, association with EWBS, I know there was talk on our group page at stick and string. But last I looked a lot of those conversations are gone. I'm not seeing and thing written in stone from the guys who started the prosess going. If you your running into roadblocks please let the rest of us know so we can help. Communication is key to making this work when we are this far apart. Joel

I'm really not sure how to go about getting prices and availability out. Is there even a website for the AWBS? I have only been able to join the Facebook list, so I'm not sure how to officially join.
Dag stated earlier that his dad had the equipment to make shirts, so once we figure out the design we want, then we could see if they could make a shirt as close as possible.
I'm only fifteen, so i wouldn't really be comfortable handling the money, but I am fine doing the designs, haha.

Here is one more shirt design, it's very simple, but it has an updated, and fiercer logo, and the slogan "Medieval Machine gun" which i though was kind of catchy.
It is 22.99 (half the price of the maroon ad black sporty designs.

I've been out of town. Has anything happened?
If we want to go with Will's logo I'm good with that. Lets get something "official" and working for us.
Dag, I found your blog, for the first time today. Maybe we should consolidate our comments to a place we all can access, your blog perhaps, and get this off the ground.
I know real life is always in the way. Lets work together...
Dag, if you have Ideas and feel it would help to delegate some of them to the rest of us, I'm sure the rest of the archers would help.
